The strongest protection we fit on motorhomes
An S7 covers monitored tracking and recovery. An S5 adds driver recognition. The S5+ adds immobilisation on top, so it's the right choice when a policy asks for the higher level of security, or when the motorhome sits parked up for weeks and you want a barrier as well as a way to find it.
Check the exact wording on your policy first
Insurers word this differently, and the difference matters, fitting the wrong category can get a theft claim refused. If any of these appear in what they've sent you, this is the product they mean:
If they've only asked for S5 without immobilisation, the motorhome S5 will satisfy them for less.
Why immobilisation matters
A tracker helps you find a car that's already gone. Immobilisation puts a barrier in the way before it does, one more thing a thief has to defeat, on the driveway, in the small hours.
No security product can promise a car will never be stolen. What this does is make yours the harder option, which is why it suits motorhomes especially: high value, easy to identify, and often left where nobody would notice them leaving.
A cheap GPS tracker isn't the same thing
A £40 device shows a dot on a map. It isn't Thatcham certified, nobody is watching it at 3am, and no police force will act on it the way they act on a call from a monitoring centre.
If your insurer has specified S5, a self-fit GPS unit almost certainly won't satisfy them, and you'd find that out at claim time.
A motorhome isn't a big car
Layouts, wiring routes, leisure batteries and storage areas all differ from a car, and there are far more lockers and voids where a badly placed device would be easy to find. The immobilisation side especially has to be wired properly.

The bit that actually gets your motorhome back
The hardware in your motorhome is only half the job. Monitoring is the 24/7 UK control room watching it, and it's what turns an alert into a recovered vehicle, or into an engine that won't restart. Your insurer needs it active for the S5 approval to count.
A secure operating centre, staffed around the clock, every day of the year. That matters most when the motorhome sits on a storage site for weeks and nobody is checking an app.
If the motorhome moves without your ADR tag present, they call you first to rule out a false alarm, then escalate.
Once a theft is confirmed and the vehicle is stationary, the control room can stop the engine restarting. That's the S5+ difference, and it only works because someone is on the other end.
The centre liaises with police forces directly, passing live location as the vehicle moves. On something as recognisable as a motorhome, that head start counts.

What the order form asks for, and why
A tracker isn't a box we post you, it's a fitted, insurer-registered system with an immobiliser wired in, and on a motorhome that means knowing what we're coming to before we set off. The few extra questions are what get it right first time.
Your tracker needs an active subscription for the control room to respond, and for your insurer to accept the S5 approval. Choose 1 to 5 years, at £180 a year, it's added to your total here. Same price as our standard S5.
We come to the motorhome, so we're working around one van and real traffic. Giving us three options means we can usually confirm one straight away, and if it's on a storage site, time to check their access hours.
The ADR tag that tells the system it's you driving. One is included; add a second if someone else drives the vehicle regularly, or the system will flag their journeys as unauthorised and the control room will call you.
This matters more on a motorhome than a car. Base vehicle and converter both change the wiring, and the immobilisation side especially, so knowing it means we arrive with the right loom. It's also what goes on your certificate of installation.
Keyless vehicles are the relay-theft targets, so we set the system up differently, it changes how the driver recognition and immobilisation are configured. Worth answering accurately, check the base vehicle, not the habitation door.
Rarely the billing address with a motorhome. Tell us exactly where it's kept, home, a yard, a farm, a storage compound, and anything we'll need to get to it, like a gate code or site office.
